POEM: "A Prayer for Light" by Lucy Jane Constable, 16 Feb 1941.
Heavenly spirit give us light
to keep us on our way aright.
Light enough for this day’s journey
        keep thy beacon burning bright.
Let it be a ray to guide us
        On our journey here below,
A ray strong and true to keep us thine
        All our way through time.
Father our times are dark,
Manmade blackout round us thick is drawn.
Oh let they light shine bright within us.
        Dark is thickest before dawn.
