     Immigrated from London, England. Lucy Jane (Finch) Constable notes: "My father's grandmother (Sophia) was Jinnimy (?) Southworth. She married perhaps John Finch's father and her brother married a sister. So 'Bill' Southworth said he was my 2nd 'twin' cousin."

Individual Note:
James Harvey's father came from Holland (High Dutch descent). His mother married again and was called Grandmother Fort by Lucy Jane (Finch) Constable. Grandmother Fort died at age 92 and was alive when Lucy Jane's sister Mary was age two. It is said Grandmother Fort was chased home by a hoop snake once. Before the door on their cabin was made, wolves used to poke their heads under the quilt hung over the opening and were driven away by the family throwing blazing sticks of wood from the fireplace at them. They were afraid of fire. Lucy Jane writes, "Grate Grandmother used to go to meet Grate Grandfather with a stick afire held by tongs when he 'changed work' with other settlers, so Mother told us.”

Lived in Toddsville, NY. Lucy Constable indicates Hiram's first wife was DoEtte Gallup and they had 3 children: James, Jennie, and Frank. His second wife was Anna Brown and they had 3 children: Earl, Pearl, and John. Lucy names only one wife, DoEtte Gallup, in another set of notes. She also names only 5 children: James, Richard, Jennie, Frank and Minnie.
May have died of gangrene either 15 Dec or 15 Sep in Toddsville, NY. Worked for Seward Seona Co. as a paper maker.
