OBITUARY: (Walton Reporter) - "Picking Pimple Causes Death...Thelma Constable Passes Away from Blood Poisoning:
The picking of a pimple at the corner of her mouth resulted in blood poisoning which caused the death Saturday of Thelma Constable, the 16 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Constable of Third Brook, Walton.
The infection started about a week previous but the girl was in Walton on Monday doing Christmas shopping and at that time called at the office of Dr. W.R. Gladstone. Blood poisoning of a virulent type developed soon after and this, complicated with meningitis, caused death Saturday morning.
Thelma Constable was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Constable. She attended school at the little red schoolhouse, where she showed a keen aptness for learning and prepared herself for entry to Walton high school. In the fall of 1922 she entered the high school to fit herself for a business education.
Naturally of a loving disposition she endeared herself to both teachers and playmates. She was a member of Mrs. Yendes' Sunday school class of the Congregational church and her associates in her class, through the deep sympathy they felt towards her untimely death, attended the funeral in a body. Besides her parents she leaves six brothers, Clyde, Earl, Harry, Ralph, Bruce and Robert; and seven sisters, the Misses Iris, Juanita, Olive, Kathryn, Marjorie, Blanche and Dorothy; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Constable of Loomis; and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Olive Vanakin.
The funeral was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the house, in charge of the Rev. Stanley U. North, pastor of the Congregational church. Both the attendance and the floral offerings bespoke the sympathy extended the family. Interment took place in the Walton cemetery."
