Individual Note:
      On December 22, 1868, Justus married, at Kankakee, Illinois, Susan E. Clemans, of Wayne County, New York, the daughter of Lorenzo D. and Sarah (Kelly) Clemens.
        After Justus's death, Susan remarried, this time to Newton S. Whetstone of Heppner, Oregon on September 5, 1920. He died on September 24, 1925. Susan lived at 7 K Street in Heppner, Oregon at the time of her death.

     Bertie was listed as heir to Lovinia Simpson's estate, along with her natural children. He was living with George A. Simpson as of October 24, 1884.

Individual Note:
      Farmer Albert Youngs and family lived in 2nd District, Town of Sidney, Delaware County, NY according to 1880 US census. His father was born in NY, but his mother was born in England.
        From TTY p128: “Mar. 14, 1903 (Walton Reporter)-Fowler Finch has purchased of Albert Youngs, that part of his farm extending above the railroad, about 25 acres, paying $35 per acre. Mr. Finch will soon commence the erection of a dwelling on his land above the Depot, which joins that recently purchased, for the accommodation of his son, who married a short time ago.”

        "William has lived in Oregon since 1898. Formerly lived at Heppner and Boardman, now living near Hardman, Oregon. Engaged in wheat farming and cattle raising with his sons." Probably from Indiana. He was a proper man-called "Mr. Bechdolt" by even his closest friends.

Individual Note:
      Jennie A. became a well-known schoolteacher. She taught at Francesville, Indiana and at other points in Pulaski County for nine years and later became the wife of William Bechdolt, of Oregon.
        From the Heppner Herald, Heppner Oregon, May 21, 1915: “Attending J.L. Simpson's 78th birthday party were Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Bechdolt and two children of Hardman, Mrs. Bechdolt being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simpson.”
        Jennie is buried in the Hardman, Oregon IOOF cemetery, located 3 1/2 miles from Hardman in Rood Canyon, left side of road going toward Eight Mile.

Individual Note:
     Cora attended normal school at Valparaiso, Indiana, and Terre Haute state normal. She taught at least ten years in public schools, including high school in Salem Township. She married E.J. Merrill of Hardman, Oregon. Lived in Hardman, OR April, 1938.
