Excerpt from E-mail to the Frazier Farmstead by Rufus M. Wood dated 2 March, 2003:
Hi, I may be a long lost distant relative of yours My name is Rufus Milton Wood. My father was Rufus Beardsley Wood and I am one of the grandsons of Eva Beardsley and Ralph Maxson Wood.
When I was a very young boy my father worked for his sister and brother in-in-law (Frances and Julian Steunenberg) who ran the laundry at the prison in Walla Walla. During this time I vaguely remember visiting Aunt Frankie, Grandma Moss and played with a little boy named Trevor.
My Great Grandfather J. F. Wood, held the first Seventh Day Adventist Church services in Walla Walla at his home there. He was also the first superintendant of public schools in Walla Walla. My Great Grandmother, Caroline, was the first music teacher at Walla Walla College at College Place.
