She graduated from Sidney High School. On June 3, 1940, she was married in Walton to Bruce C. Budine, who predeceased her on Feb. 15, 1999.
Her life's work was as a homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Budine also sold Avon for a number of years and was active in her church and community. She was active in East Walton Ladies Aid Society, The United Methodist Women, The Walton Firemen's Ladies' Auxiliary and served as secretary to the Emons-Goodrich Family Reunion for more than three decades.
Mrs. Budine was community-minded, knitting mittens, hats and scarves for Townsend School children and other needy youth, as well as blankets for Countryside Care Center and The Heart-a-thon. Along with her husband, she helped host the Republican Booth at the Delaware County Fair for many years.
Her greatest joy was spending times with family and friends. She especially loved baking cookies at holiday time or anytime for anyone who savored them. Her grandchildren helped to spread the pleasure of her cookies far beyond Delaware County, sharing them on their college campuses and later in their new homes.
Surviving Mrs. Budine are a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Walter Truman of Walton; her grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Kate Roberts of Hopewell, N.J., and Jennifer and Paul Hutkowski of Pittsford; great-grandchildren, Lily and Andrew Hutkowski of Pittsford and Owen Roberts of Hopewell, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
