     Oscar Schriber's marriage license lists his occupation as Traction Engineer. He was stomped to death by a horse in a stall on his farm.

     Mildred had a twin brother Millard who died in infancy. From the Walton Reporter, 1925: "Mrs. Leslie Budine entertained thirty young ladies Friday afternoon from three to six, in honor of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Welch, whose marriage took place June 16th. A variety shower was given her including aluminum ware, china and linen. Ice cream, cake and punch were served. Later in the evening Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stewart entertained Mr. and Mrs. Bert Welch and his brother, Augustus Welch, at a six-course dinner."

      MARRIAGE: From the Walton Reporter - Frank Bartow and Miss Bernice Budine were married Wednesday evening, March 31 [1926], at the M.E. parsonage in Walton. Miss Eunice Budine and Elmer Williams attended them. They left for Lyons Falls Friday where they will make their home as he is employed in the paper mills at that place. The young couple has the best wishes of their many friends."
        CARD OF THANKS: We wish to thank our kind friends and neighbors for their kind assistance and sympathy during the illness and death of our little girl…Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bartow and family.

      RICE-WELCH: (June 9, 1976, Walton Reporter) - In a candlelight service Saturday, May 15, in the United Methodist church of Walton, Miss Frances J. Welch and William E. Rice, both of Walton, were united in marriage by Rev. Edwin N.P. Hempel in a double ring ceremony.
        The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bert Welch of Walton while the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Ethel M. Rice of Munnsville and the late Ernest Rice.
        Arrangements of mint and yellow daisies, white carnations and baby’s breath surrounded the altar. Mrs. Harold Combs of Walton was the organist while J. Richard Kinch and Mrs. WiIliam Hastings, both of Walton, sang.
        The bride’s attire and the attendants’ gown were made by Mrs. Louise Brundage. The bridal veil was three-tiered, fingertip length, of French illusion attached to a lace headpiece. Her dress was floor-length of white crepe over taffeta. Bodice and cummerbund were Venise lace and crepe over taffeta, trimmed with sequins and seed pearls. The sleeves were long and straight, made from Venise lace. She carried a white Bible with white picot satin streamers with single white cymbidium orchid. She was given in marriage by her brother, Bert A. Welch of Walton.
        Matron of honor was Mrs. Bert A. Welch.
        Mrs. Bruce Bronson of Walton and Mrs. Roger H. Fletcher of Bainbridge were the bridesmaids.
        Flower girl was Tammy L. Fletcher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger H. Fletcher of Bainbridge, while the ring bearer was Timothy L. Caruso, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Caruso of Walton. Flower girl carried a plateau basket of mint green, yellow, peach, blue and white daisies and baby’s breath. She was attired in a floor-length gown of light blue windsong polyester.
        John W. Rice of Utica, son of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Roger H. Fletcher of Bainbridge, Ronald E. McAdams of Walton, Daniel E. Koenig of Smyrna, and L-Cpl. Duane H. Welch of Twenty-Nine Palms Marine Corps Base, CA.
        About 200 were at the reception in the church dining room with Mrs. Alice Brundege of Walton the cateress. Pouring were Mrs. Lillavene DuMond, Mrs. Marie VanKleeck, Mrs. Charlotte Benedict, all of Walton. Mrs. Linda Thompson was in charge of the guest book.
        The bride is employed by Bronson-Smith Motors, Inc., Walton, while her husband works for Hermann Forwarding Co., Walton.
        When the couple left on a wedding trip to Virginia, the bride selected a two-piece apricot dress and jacket ensemble with white accessories and white cymbidium orchid.
        They are residing at 65 North street, Walton. Out of town guests were from Liberty, Schenectady, South Edmeston, Amsterdam, Unadilla, Davenport. Sidney Center, Munnsville, Smyrna, Utica, Norwich, New York City, Morrisville, Marietta, Sauquoit, Roscoe, Greene, Hamilton, Bainbridge, and Twenty-Nine Palms. (Ruth 1:16-17)
