      OBITUARY (Tri-Town News, March 1999): WALTON - Allison F. Meres, 68, of Upper Loomis Brook Road, Walton, died on Sunday, March 14, 1999, at home.
        Al was born May 23, 1930, in Franklin, the son of Angie and Dortha Thomas Meres.
        He was married to Beverly Bartow on Dec. 8, 1951, in Walton. She survives.
        He served in the Army from 1951-1953, as a paratrooper.
        Al was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation, retiring in 1985, as a highway maintenance supervisor. He then drove a bus for ARC, was superintendent of Walton Cemetery and then a custodian at Southside Mall.
        He was a member of the Walton Free Methodist Church, the Walton Grange, where he was past master, Masonville Grange, VFW and American legion and the Missing Parts Antique Engine Club.
        In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sharon Meres of Bainbridge and Roy and Tawny Meres of East Branch; three daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Gary Sherman of Walton, Cindy Meres of Walton and Bernice and John Shelton of Sidney Center; three sisters, Marie Church of Masonville, Hazel Bagley of Florida and Alice MacIntyre of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
        There are no calling hours or services at this time. Cremation with final disposition at Walton Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
        Memorials in the Walton Free Methodist Church Building Fund, the Walton Emergency Squad or Catskill Area Hospice in his name appreciated.
        Arrangements are by Clark & Winter Funeral Service in Walton.
