Individual Note: Model of a sailing ship was made by Capt. D. A. Kilham and given to Austin Daniel Kilham (b.1890). It is now owned by Alfred Chadwick Kilham (b. 1920). Walter Kilham Sr. took down the story of Daniel A. Kilham and wrote up "The Recollections of Daniel Abraham Kilham." The original typed copy is owned by Walter H. Kilham, Jr. (b. 1904); a copy (Deposit No. 3230) is deposited in the Manuscript Dept. in Alderman Library, Charlottesville, Va.

Individual Note: Hannah Fisk Conant (Aunt Hannah) was born in Andover Aug. 27, 1822 d. May 17, 1921. She was the daughter of Major Nathaniel Conant, a descendant of Roger Conant, founder of Salem in 1623 (see his statue near Common in Salem) and of Elizabeth Kilham Conant (daughter of Major Jonathan Dodge, Jr., by his wife Rebecca Kilham, 107). Hannah was widowed with a comfortable inheritance at age 43 and raised her six children in the old Cabot-Lee-Kilham House on Cabot Street in Beverly. “Aunt Hannah” will always be remembered by her family and friends in her white cap and dress, the object of the devoted care of her daughters, in the fine old mansion and beautiful garden where she presided until her death at age 99.

Individual Note: Henry Austin Dodge, Sr., was the son of Albert Dodge and Olive Fairfield Dodge. He lived much of the time in the south, joined the Confederate Army accompanied by a black and tan dog and a colored boy to attend him. After the war he returned to the north where he completed his education and married his cousin. His married years were spent in Norfolk County, Virginia, and Elizabeth City, N. C., where he was in the lumber business.
